Originally opened in November 1964 as the Delta Regional Primate Research Center, the Tulane National Primate Research Center is one of eight centers that make up the National Primate Research Center Program funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The primary areas of research today at the TNPRC are infectious diseases, including biodefense-related work and Regenerative Medicine. Find out more about the diseases we investigate.
